I haven’t read much from Sienna Blake. But from the few books I read of hers, I could confidently say that she can write one helluva story.

Fighter’s Kiss was the third installment from the Irish Kiss series and a complete standalone. In comparison with the first two books, Darmuid and Danny were scarce on the story. They have a few appearances but not as much as the first two books. I liked how the story flowed and how things progressed. Although it was kind of an instant attraction, the story slowly builds up and not the typical insta-love and they lived happily ever after. It sometimes get tiring to read insta-love where they had this attraction at first meeting and they fell madly in love in just a span of a week. Fighter’s Kiss, although only progress in a span of few weeks, there were scenes that actually made them connected with one another apart from just the sexual tension. I also like that it crossed a little with The Irish Lottery. I think the only that I was missing was a little more angst. There was a little hitch on the journey, but it was just that a hitch. I was maybe looking for a little more fight.

The characters are easy to connect to. You would kind of understand why they act the way they do. Their decisions are mostly understandable given their past and the feelings their harboring. I just feel that River’s reason for running away isn’t established that much. Even though it was further explained what happened, it kind of doesn’t feel as big of a deal as they make it out to be. It felt a little lacking. Declan on the other hand, despite the tough exterior shows how soft he can be on the inside.

I’d give this an overall 4.5 stars. I just really think a little more angst in it made it perfect.

I’m really bad at organizing. I tried multiple times to remember what I signed up for, but I still get surprised by emails I wasn’t expecting. This introduced me to a new author LA Cotton.

Apparently, I signed up for a second book in the series. Although this is a standalone, I still think it is best to read this in order they are released to get more feels on the plot. It also has a little bit of spoiler from the first book. Being me, I really don’t mind since it didn’t really tell me exactly how it happened, just what happened. I’m being torn between liking and hating the story. It’s kind of the typical Enemies to Lovers story but not really. I find the story a little too fast-paced. But I would say that it still has the overall “feels” to it. There were still moments that I felt it – the passion and the angst. It was just that there were some points that I felt for it to be a little lacking with the connection of the two characters. I also like that not everything was just laid out. The mystery on some of the things that happens actually does explain how and why everything played out the way it did.

I didn’t like Felicity very much. Although he’s not really a push over, I can’t really feel the “sass” Jason is referring to from her. She’s one of those heroines whose logic flew out the window the moment he saw Jason. I mean, come on! Make him grovel! I felt like she just keeps on accepting him with open arms even if her mind tells her no. But I do like what she was able to do with her life and the way that she has transformed. Jason, on the other hand, is something else. I wouldn’t go as far as add him on my BBF, but he kinda proved himself in few occasion. I like how he handled things and made sacrifices that he needs to do.

It would be a little shocking that I would still be giving this a 4 star, despite the above review. But I was able to feel some of the heartbreaking scenes and connect with them a little. It was worthy to be read till the end and that’s good enough for me.

Book Review: Sundays are for Hangovers - K Webster and JD Hollyfield

Title Sundays are for Hangovers
Author K Webster and JD Hollyfield
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publish date May 21, 2018

For nearly a year, they’ve been at war.

Cops. Forks. Eggs.

Two feuding neighbors who couldn’t be more opposite, forced to live next door to one another.

Neither is backing down.

She drives him crazy with her loud nineties rap music.

He gets under her skin the way he obsesses over his stupid perfect lawn.

She fantasizes about having sex with the hot nerd—but with duct tape over his dumb mouth.

He has dirty dreams of the bombshell beauty where he bangs the crazy right out of her—nightmares of course.

Anger isn’t the only thing heating up between these two.

They think this is a battle only one of them can win…

The growing attraction between them, though, seems to be far more stubborn than the two of them combined.

K Webster and JD Hollyfield together is undoubtedly hilarious. This is the fourth book (first three are part of the series) of them that I read. And I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

The story line is good with those ups and downs. I like the twists and climax and how they were placed in the whole plot. It's not the typical love story that I get to read and it is entertaining. I also liked how the story played out with the family. Not the usual family resolution on most books. And I liked it.

I also liked the characters combination. The most unlikely pair but complementing all the same. I liked how Lilith wanted to break out of the shell her parents made of her but respects them as much as she could at the same time. I like how Will tries to be a better person for himself and the people who cares for him.

Overall, I'd give this 4 out of 5 stars. I did enjoy the whole shebang, I just wished it has more heart wrenching scenes.

Natasha Preston is one of the most flexible author I have read. She can either make you cry or keep you on your toes. Lie to Me definitely did not disappoint.

I like that the story actually delivered the blurb. It's kind of hard to sometimes read the blurb because they do not really say what you're in for. I liked the pacing od the story, not too fast or not too slow either. The story plot is not as usual as the other stories I read recently where things doesn't really go bad between the characters. I also liked that it portryed two different kind of family a person can have.

It's kind of hard for me to love a heroine. I mostly find them lacking. But Savannah is just different. Apart from her familial issues, which I can't blame her for actually, I like her personality and sass. I likw that even if she is a bit unsure of herself, she can still hold her own. Kent is also definitely going onto my never ending list of BBF. I like that he genuinely despised Savannah but still acted like a good person when the situation calls for it.

I would give this a definite 5 stars. A breath of fresh story frok the recent read I have.

Blackstone is the first book on the Four Fathers series and also the first book of JD Hollyfield that I read that she wrote on her own. I've only read the 2 Lovers trilogy and enjoyed it. This isn't any different.

The story is a bit cliche and predictable for me. But i would blame it on all the other novels I've read in the past. Regardless, I was still able to enjoy the story in its entirety. I liked that their story somewhat hit the rocks instead of just a smooth sailing where they were able to cross the raging river without so much as a bruise. If you know what I mean. I like my story with a little heart break in the side.

Even though it was a May-December love affair, I didn't quite feel their age gap. I like Lucy's personality-- straightforward and even though she seem at a loss with her life, she still grab and makes most of what life hands her. Trevor, whose name is so sexy, is not so much of a male alpha to me. Although he is a bit domineering, he seem a little insecure because of his "special gift". But I like how he takes care of what is his and how forgiving he could be.

Overall, I'll give this book 4 stars. I did enjoy the story but I think it could still be better.
