This series is the first I've read of CC Wood and it's promising!

I'm not alwaya thrilled with Paranormal Romance, but I read it now and then. I like how this one has a combination of fun and terror. I like that it doesn't pretend to be a Paranormal and just have all the smut in it. This one's just had a right amount of everything. The story feels so real that I can feel the horror to my bones. I also like one part that makes me go 'WTAF?' I wanted to throw my phone to the wall. It's just makes you want to read more but also makes you want to savor every moment. Another good thing is that even though it was a series and needs to be read in order but the end of each books isn't a cliffy.

The characters are also very fun to read. They add mystery to the story. I was starting to doubt one person and it just adds so much thrill to it.

This is by far the best from the series and I'm giving this a 5 star.

Book Review: Hot Daddy Sauce - Angel Devlin and Tracy Lorraine

Title: Hot Daddy Sauce
Author: Angel Devlin and Tracy Lorraine
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Hot Daddy, Book 1
Release Date: October 17, 2019

It’s getting hot around here! Chilli hot! 🌶️🌶️

Leah

My next door neighbour, Jenson, is a chef and a successful businessman. He’s also a single daddy to the cutest six-year-old girl.

I’m only here as long as it takes to get my parents old house ready for sale. Then it’s time for me to make a fresh start, away from the tragic events of late.

Trouble is, now I’ve had a taste of this hot daddy’s sauce, I want more…

Jenson

When I see Leah in the garden next door, at first I think she’s barely out of school. But she soon reveals she’s all woman.

My daughter loves her and it’s not long before my own feelings are heading the same way.

Are we a mouth-watering combination or a recipe for disaster?

Angel Devlin is the alter-ego of paranormal, rom com, and suspense writer, Andie M. Long. Check out Angel for stories of heart and heat.

She lives in Sheffield with her partner, son, and a gorgeous whippet called Bella.

Tracy Lorraine is a British contemporary romance author. Tracy lives in a cute Cotswold village with her husband, daughter and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up and hasn’t looked back since.

Hot Daddy Sauce is the first on the Hot Daddy series. Also a first for Angel Devlin and Tracy Lorraine

I really enjoyed a light read every now and then. A little grip in the heart but not overwhelming. Although age gap is not really my thing, I did enjoy this one as I feel that the hero is not that all old. I would have preferred some twist to have happened but their way of twist was good too. It was an insta-love that I have grown to like. The flow of the story doesn't feel rushed or stretched. I think it was just the right timing. It was very easy to read and enjoyable too.

The characters does have "character". They don't just exist and let the flow carry them around. Leah is sassy, knows what she wants and very hands on. It's a very remarkable trademark, at least for me that she knows how to work around the house not for just the typical girl chores. She's also good with kids, which is very admirable. Jenson on the other hand is just a very hot name. Don't you think? But besides the name, he's responsible and very loving. Kind of reminds me of my dad who's very dear to my heart. He's also mature enough to admit what he feels and know if he screwed up.

Overall, this is a 4 star for me. The only thing missing was the straight to the heart lines that would be a great teaser.

Book Review: What Do You See - K Dosal McLendon

Title: What Do You See
Author: K Dosal McLendon
Genre: Contemporary Sports Romance
Release Date: July 28, 2019

Claire
I believed I had my future all planned out.
College, track, friends, I mean, why wouldn't I? I was a nineteen-year-old girl in college with a dream of being an Olympian that wasn't too far within reach as a college top track star.
A jeep I could roll the windows down while the radio blasted as I sang off-key.28
My own dorm that gifted me privacy from my two triplet brothers.
I had it all.
But just like many, I took it all for granted. That's until my life turned upside down, and everything changed. I nearly became one more lost soul. Without the love of my family, friends, and a very charming soccer player, I would've truly lost myself in the process.
This is my story and how I began to see beyond what's right in front of me.
Funny, all I had to do was open my eyes.
The only problem is time.

Jake
I lived a life never truly paying attention to the world around me. I had my dad, my grams, and my soccer ball. I was perfectly fine with the way I lived life.
Why grow attached to things that can walk away?
That's until I saw her.
The girl I never thought I would find--the one who made me see in a different perspective.
Oh, and how beautiful it is.

I have recently shied away from authors that I don't really know or haven't read unless they were someone recommended to me by a friend or someone I trust with the taste of books. So I was a little hesitant when K Dosal McLendon contacted me to try her new book. Something in the blurb made me decide to give it a go even if I'm not sure I'll like it. My decision was proven correct when I was bawling my eyes out throughout the story.

The story tackles a lot of emotional and mental turmoil. Maybe it was my current emotional state but for some reason I was able to feel all the pain that the character was feeling. The emotions were so raw and powerful that I had to stop more times than I can remember just to let it all sink in. Absorb all the emotions and let it pass. It was even a bad idea to read at a public place. I kinda look a little pathetic with all the crying. But I just can't not read what happens next. Its insta-love is still a little baffling to me as it most often than a hit and miss for me. But the romance was built around so much feelings that I had to overlook that little flaw. Throughout the story, I was battling if I wanted her to surpass that trial triumphantly or have to go thru the pain and learn to live with it. Bottom line, I couldn't be much happier on how she decided to end things. My heart was properly shattered and the bits and pieces still hurts as I wade thru the plot line. It was so emotional that I can't stop bawling my eyes out.

The characters are very easy to connect to. You could really feel their pain, anguish and emotional turmoil. I loved how she have her brothers to take care of her. I've always loved a good sibling book. I like how they (the hero and heroine) bring out the best in each other and make them see beyond what was in front of them. I love how the characters (all of them) are created. They speak to you as though you are one of them. You can just feel them to your bones.

I'm giving this a perfect 5 stars. It may just have been my emotional and mental state at the time i'm reading it, but it did make me feel raw, unadultered emotions at the time and that's all that matters to me.

Book Review: Fighter's Kiss - Sienna Blake

Title: Fighter's Kiss
Author: Sienna Blake
Genre: MMA Romance
Series: Irish Kiss, Book 3
Release Date: October 1, 2019

Declan “The Homewrecker” Gallagher.
World #1 MMA Champion.
Broad shoulders, perfect eight pack and the temper of a bull.
Still recovering from a car accident that broke his body.
Still married to the cheating supermodel bitch who broke his heart.

…My new boss

I can’t even begin to list all the reasons why getting close to him is a bad idea.
Or going to that fancy red carpet thing as his date.
Or letting him kiss me like he might never let me go.

Did I say bad idea?
Scratch that.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

I haven’t read much from Sienna Blake. But from the few books I read of hers, I could confidently say that she can write one helluva story.

Fighter’s Kiss was the third installment from the Irish Kiss series and a complete standalone. In comparison with the first two books, Darmuid and Danny were scarce on the story. They have a few appearances but not as much as the first two books. I liked how the story flowed and how things progressed. Although it was kind of an instant attraction, the story slowly builds up and not the typical insta-love and they lived happily ever after. It sometimes get tiring to read insta-love where they had this attraction at first meeting and they fell madly in love in just a span of a week. Fighter’s Kiss, although only progress in a span of few weeks, there were scenes that actually made them connected with one another apart from just the sexual tension. I also like that it crossed a little with The Irish Lottery. I think the only that I was missing was a little more angst. There was a little hitch on the journey, but it was just that a hitch. I was maybe looking for a little more fight.

The characters are easy to connect to. You would kind of understand why they act the way they do. Their decisions are mostly understandable given their past and the feelings their harboring. I just feel that River’s reason for running away isn’t established that much. Even though it was further explained what happened, it kind of doesn’t feel as big of a deal as they make it out to be. It felt a little lacking. Declan on the other hand, despite the tough exterior shows how soft he can be on the inside.

I’d give this an overall 4.5 stars. I just really think a little more angst in it made it perfect.
